Fellowship Spotlight: Acclaim Community-Focused Psychiatry Fellowship for Advanced Practice Providers
The Acclaim Community-Focused Psychiatry Fellowship for Advanced Practice Providers focuses on community level delivery of quality psychiatric care. The program is offered through a partner of the Acclaim Physician Group – the JPS Health Network department of Behavioral Health and Psychiatry. Within the program are separate opportunities for physician assistants (PAs) and nurse practitioners (NPs).
Through this program, fellows will be exposed to four different facility units in three month blocks – consult-liaison service, partial hospitalization, inpatient, and psychiatric emergency. Fellows will work with patients across age ranges on multidisciplinary teams. They will also be able to be involved in quality improvement initiatives, research, and have access to continuing education opportunities.
Program Structure
Fellows will participate in each of the four three month rotations. They will also be involved in a mentorship program and attend four, two hour sessions of didactics per week. There will also be a quality improvement participation project that the fellows work on and physician residency lectures on psychopharmacology, patient safety, quality, wellbeing, ethics, and other topics. Fellows will be assessed periodically over the course of the year.
